Hi Janet: That Bardo Passage sculpture is being repaired, thanks to another AbsoluteArtist.com member - Brian Owens. I Googled sculptors, Deltona and his name came up. He only lives a few miles away in the same town! Brian's ad said he also repaired plastic sculptures and teaches.
I had already ordered the repair materials, and they arrived and were just the right things. Last week Brian arrived and understood what needed to be done. I hired him and now he's working on it. It's white right now. Perhaps your client might take a look and see if they would like it to be white. I had it yellow in the New York show but the white shows more planes and values and doesn't need ultra violet light to make it shine. I have more pics coming. We had to order more material from http://www.sculpt.com/ in New York and the box came yesterday. Brian is doing a super job. I will upload a pic in your upload under my portfolio of Brian working on it! I bet you'll be surprised when you find out how we in absolutearts.com network by accident. Cecil Herring
PS. also blogged this week about being in the WWOL (world's women on-line) in 1995, CHAIRED BY HILLARY CLINTON in Beijing! She was supporting women artists way back then. I entered the show by submitting my first digital work called BARDO PASSAGE WAVE. I used a photograph of the yellow plastic sculpture Bardo Passage I created for the New York show in 1970. For this new media work I used Photoshop 2 with no layers and 8 megs of ram. This was in 1993. Used Photoshop 'wave' filter and voila, Bardo Passage Wave was created . I had to get it right the first time. My computer at McFatter Technical School where I was studying had 8 megs of ram. Arizona State U.'s chairman, Muriel Magenta who juried the show, set up the Beijing show with a battery operated computer since there really was no world wide web in 1995. The U. N. sponsored the show. Funny how things connect in life. I find this story absolutely fascinating. Connections everywhere. Magic. Cheers, Cecil Herring
